Distribution of Essential Medicines to Health Facilities in Uthiru/Ruthimitu Ward
To strengthen primary healthcare delivery, essential medicines were distributed to Chandaria and Uthiru Muthua Health Centres through a strategic partnership with Salama Pharmaceuticals and County Government. This initiative aims to ensure that local medical facilities are well-equipped to serve the community effectively and respond to common health needs without delay.
Impact: The medicine distribution has improved access to critical healthcare services, reduced medicine shortages, and enhanced the capacity of local clinics to serve patients-ensuring that residents receive timely and quality treatment close to home.
Grading and Maintenance of Utheri Drive
Utheri Drive, a key access route within Uthiru/Ruthimitu Ward, recently underwent grading and levelling to enhance its condition and usability. As part of the ward’s routine road maintenance program, this intervention ensures the road remains accessible throughout the year, particularly during the rainy season, thereby improving transport and safety for residents and road users.
Impact: The improved state of Utheri Drive has eased transportation, minimized flooding and road degradation, and strengthened access to residential areas and essential services-contributing to a more connected and functional community.
Issuance of Bursaries to Needy Students in Uthiru/Ruthimitu Ward
In a continued effort to promote education and support underprivileged families, bursaries were issued to needy students across Uthiru/Ruthimitu Ward. This initiative, led by the area MCA, ensures that bright but financially challenged learners are not left behind due to lack of school fees. Construction of Githima–Mukiriti Road
The Githima–Mukiriti Road upgrade is part of a broader initiative to improve road infrastructure within Uthiru/Ruthimitu Ward. The project involves grading, murraming, and proper drainage installation to make the road more accessible throughout the year. This key link road serves residential areas and supports local businesses, easing movement and enhancing overall connectivity within the ward.

Construction of Kikuyu Road - Ruthimitu Primary Road
The Kikuyu Road - Ruthimitu Primary Road project involved tarmacking of a key access road serving residents, students, and businesses in the area. This development has eased transportation challenges, improved connectivity, and enhanced safety, especially for school-going children accessing Ruthimitu Primary School.
Impact: The upgraded road has improved mobility for local residents, boosted access to education and essential services, and stimulated small-scale economic activities by easing the movement of goods and people.
Sewer Line Construction in Uthiru Corporation
The construction of a modern sewer line in Uthiru Corporation was initiated to address long-standing sanitation and drainage issues in the area. Funded through the Ward Development Fund, this project involved the installation of a comprehensive sewage system aimed at improving waste management, reducing environmental pollution, and enhancing public health standards.
Impact: This project has significantly improved sanitation in Uthiru Corporation, reduced the risk of waterborne diseases, and created a cleaner, healthier environment for residents, reflecting a strong commitment to community well-being and sustainable development.
Construction of Kabuthi Bridge – Linking Kware and Kirigu
The Kabuthi Bridge project, is a critical infrastructure development connecting the neighborhoods of Kware and Kirigu across the Mutuini and Uthiru/Ruthimitu Wards. Championed by the Nairobi County Government under Governor Johnson Sakaja and overseen by the Department of Works and Mobility, the bridge enhances accessibility for both residents and school-going children.
Impact: This bridge has significantly improved mobility between two wards, reducing travel time, enhancing safety for schoolchildren and pedestrians, and strengthening social and economic ties across communities.
